Welcome to The Stanford County Detention Center, a women's correctional facility with strict rules and power tripping Corrections Officers. This is not your every day prison, but a very harsh daily reality for the convicted ladies who spend their days locked up here.

EPISODE 1: CAUGHT

Kora is alone locked up in her cell, telling her imaginary viewer about who she is, where she is, and how long she will be there. She narrates overhead as she numbs herself to the sting of time slowly passing her by with a book of word puzzles...

In this pilot episode for a longer running series, Kora is an inmate currently serving a 10 year sentence. She wears an orange uniform with black stenciling on the back, marking her as an inmate of the facility, and she has a matching pair of cheap plastic orange slides. Her home is a barred cell made of concrete and metal, and it measures barely 6ft by 6ft.

In Kora's unit the regular regime is mostly a lot of time locked down in cells, with very minimal interaction between inmates, but there is enough intermingling that contraband can circulate if it gets inside the prison walls.

Kora is not an aggressive offender, nor one who gets up to much of her own enterprising, but she's known to partake in some off limits activities to alleviate the boredom of incarceration, and in this episode of SCDC she is caught with a vape pod stowed in her mattress.

This series will continue in 4 parts as we see Kora suffer the consequences of her own actions, as she is locked in the disciplinary unit for 90 days following the discovery of the vape. After the 4th part the series may continue on to explore the backstory of Kora's character, her future troubles in prison, or perhaps explore the stories of other characters in the world of SCDC. This episode focuses on the search and discovery of the contraband with the officer giving her a thorough pat down and cursory clothed body search, before checking the soles of her feet and seeing if anything is hiding in her socks, then tossing the cell as she nervously stands watching her only personal possessions being inspected and thrown around.
