It was most likely a good luck piece, and (considering how it failed her) it does not have any supernatural abilities for aiding escapes. He then exposes Alba's voluptuous breasts and he loosens the ropes binding her wrists so she can get free after he's fled. He tells her he may call her riffraff boyfriend and tell him where he can find her if she can't wiggle out of the ropes on her own, and then he abandons Alba to fend for herself.
