Throughout the scene, he is made to endure physical and mental stress by staying perfectly still within his agonised body to keep my glove in perfect place upon his head, and my leather cap on his back.

Eventually, his predicament is made far worse by the addition of a cane under his knees. His crying and sobbing will not make me relent. This training is to steel both his body and mind. My slaves must be able to endure whatever I give them. They must be strong, stoic and steadfast in their mission to please me.
