Claire arrives home to find a man waiting outside her house. He approaches her asking for directions, and while clearly uneasy, Claire agrees to do so. Almost immediately, the man holds her up and makes her walk to the side of her house, out of view of any neighbors. He tells Claire he is going to take her car, and he would also like to take her clothes to remember her by. Claire looks alarmed when he orders her to undress. Before he leaves in her car, he makes Claire walk around to the back of her house and handcuff herself to a post. After he leaves, Claire badly wants to shout out to summon help, but she hesitates because of the acute embarrassment of having any of her neighbors see her naked.
