I walk around in some knee high socks and a mini-dress, arranging my room. But, Oh NO! I slip and sprain my ankle! Wait a minute, I can't even put any weight on it anymore? How am I supposed to even stand up, or get to a doctor? I think it might be broken???

OK I need to remain rational and calm here. I NEED to think clearly, and come up with a plan! Wait; I know! I'm going to keep putting layer upon layer of compression stockings over my ankle, until there's enough support around it to get up. Then I'm going to over to my neighbors house, where I can use a phone and get help!
