It's almost noon and the street sweeper is quickly approaching. My broken-down car is in the way and going to be towed unless I can muster the strength to move it across the street! I get out, in my little sweater and yoga pants, and I try and try to push the car. I grunt, scream, curse, and use all my little body's might to make it move. It's almost noon and the street sweeper is quickly approaching. My broken-down car is in the way and going to be towed unless I can muster the strength to move it across the street! I get out, in my little sweater and yoga pants, and I try and try to push the car. I grunt, scream, curse, and use all my little body's might to make it move. Even an inch would be SOMETHING at this point! I throw off my sweater as I begin to get hot struggling in the warm Los Angeles air. I push the bumper, the trunk, and every little place I can find to see if it will make a difference. People are staring at me, walking their tending to their yards, and utterly ignoring me as I struggle along, a poor, weak damsel about to get a huge fine--or even have her car towed away and locked up! I get more and more desperate as the time ticks by. I can hear the sweeper on the next block, approaching quickly. I make for a running start to really push the car hard, but even that doesn't work! My body almost breaks from the effort, and I still have not been able to make the car budge an inch! I take another running start---maybe this time---I tense up my tired muscles and anticipate the impact---ARRGGH! I give up! I sink to my knees and cry out on the pavement. A big bill will certainly be in my future!
