(English) After a long surgery, the team is in the rest room chatting. Doctor Bianca starts to feel a slight twinge of pain but ignores it as she chats with the rest of the surgical team. (English) After a long surgery, the team is in the rest room chatting. Doctor Bianca starts to feel a slight twinge of pain but ignores it as she chats with the rest of the surgical team. The pain becomes unbearable however. In the next scene as Bianca is lays in bed in the pre-op holding area, a young doctor on her surgical team tells her she has a ruptured gall bladder and they have to operate immediately. The irony is doctor Bianca is the gall bladder surgery specialist of the team. Her colleague the young doctor must operate on her, even though she has never performed this surgery before. The med team checks her heartbeat, and places a pink bouffant cap onto her head. Bianca starts to feel loopy as the nurses prep her. In the OR a black rubber mask is placed and Bianca's starts counting back from 100. An LMA is inserted and Bianca's eyes are taped. The young doctor is nervous about operating on her mentor but knows that she must. She is sweating from the stress and her forehead is wiped frequently. Finally she successfully performs her task however, Bianca's temperature spikes and she slips into malignant hypothermia and codes on the table! The team starts CPR immediately and the defibrillator is charged but with no response following the first round. They try to save Bianca and following some rounds of CPR and defibrillations Bianca's pulse returns to normal. The surgery ends, Bianca is extubated and an O2 mask placed on her face. Than she is wheeled down the hallway into the recovery room where the med team checks her vitals. What happened in the OR? Why did she code? To be continued...
