It is freezing cold.

It is snowing hard outside.

I need a cigarette really bad.

Usually I would stay warm and cozy by the fire, and light up another of the many Marlboros I smoke every day.

But on this evening there are guests inside who dislike being exposed to my chain-smoking.

So when I can’t stand the cravings any longer, I step outside into the frigid elements, dressed only in boots, shorts, a bra, and a long-sleeved shirt.

The only thing warm for me in this scene is the good strong smoke swirling deep inside my lungs.
