This is a cold start clip with a little bit of a difference. So as you can see it is a bitterly cold, damp foggy evening as Hayleigh approaches the Metro. She knows it is going to be a tough task as her choke is no longer working so she gives it a good few pumps and some encouragement to start before she even tries to crank it over. When she does crank it over it very nearly catches, the 2nd crank however it just barely turns over at all and now it’s just clicking when she turns the key. All could be lost but out of the fog appears someone walking to his car, he can hear the clicking noise ...

This is a cold start clip with a little bit of a difference. So as you can see it is a bitterly cold, damp foggy evening as Hayleigh approaches the Metro. She knows it is going to be a tough task as her choke is no longer working so she gives it a good few pumps and some encouragement to start before she even tries to crank it over. When she does crank it over it very nearly catches, the 2nd crank however it just barely turns over at all and now it’s just clicking when she turns the key. All could be lost but out of the fog appears someone walking to his car, he can hear the clicking noise from the Metro and comes across Hayleigh who asks him for a jump start. He duly obliges and hooks some jump leads up to his car, Hayleigh now tries once more to get her cold car started. She explains it may take a while as the choke doesn’t work but he doesn’t seem to mind. For the next few minutes Hayleigh cranks, pumps and begs, there is a lot of spluttering and stalling! When the engine does start it just won’t keep running and rev without any choke. Then for some reason the jump starting helper decides to have a look, only instead of helping he just disconnects a HT lead! Now the Metro won’t even try and start, it just turns over with no sign of life, the helper suggests pumping and holding the pedal and he seems very interested in watching Hayleigh’s feet. She becomes very aware of the fact the car is now worse than it was and this so called helper is not helping too much, eventually she calls him out on it and tells him to undo whatever he had done. He in turn plugs the HT lead back in and Hayleigh can try again. When she does so the engine is still struggling, there is once more a lot of cranking, spluttering and stalling as the engine struggles in the cold conditions. It takes a good few minutes but eventually it will just about run on its own so Hayleigh rather sarcastically thanks her helper!
